Taking it to the next level, like when getting geared up for a show or a party. Often involves caffeine or loud music, possible alcohol or stimulants of less savory nature. Refers to the lag caused by a turbocharger getting up to speed in an engine, you take a minute or so to get fueled so you can properly rip.
